At the beginning of 2020, Grim Happenings went on hiatus as the world changed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the unprecedented events unfolding, every news story was an anomaly, and the word “unprecedented” became a common phrase.
The pandemic has changed the world in many ways, and it became a much scarier place for many people.
Where Grim Happenings had previously focussed on the scarier and more grim, macabre aspects of life, we decided to pause publication to stop the world from seeming like such a scary place, if only for a little while.
In 2023, we took the decision to resume publication as the world has started to return to some sense of normalcy and the number of anomalies in the news has decreased.
This allows Grim Happenings to focus on the most unusual and offbeat stories again.
It is always important to remember that the news is news for a reason, and the events reported in Grim Happenings are the top 1% of the most unusual and rare anomalies. These events are extremely rare and do not happen frequently.
