A Texas woman shared her home with her mother’s corpse for three years

A woman in Texas was arrested on Wednesday 10th July after the decomposing remains of her mother were found in the home she shared with her teenage daughter.

According to the Seguin Police Department, Jacqueline Louise Crayton suffered a non-life-threatening fall on the property at the age of 71 in 2016.

According to a release from the department, Delissa Navonne Crayton, 47, “failed to provide adequate assistance leading investigators to believe Jaqueline died within a few days while lying on the floor.”

The skeletal remains of the elder woman were found on the floor of one of the bedrooms, while the mother and her daughter slept in another room.

The teenager was under the age of 15 when she was living with her grandmother’s corpse and as a result, her mother has been charged with “injury to a child” under the age of 15.

The girl has been placed in the care of relatives, while her mother could face up to 20 years in jail and a fine of up to £8,000.
