Five people die in shooting at Airbnb rented "party house"

A mansion rented through Airbnb for a Halloween party turned into a chaotic scene on Thursday 31st October, when gunfire broke out, killing five people. Several others were injured and more than 100 frightened partygoers fleed from the posh neighbourhood of this affluent city where violent crime is rare.

After confirming the deaths of four men in their 20s earlier in the day, police announced on Friday 1st November that a fifth shooting victim, a 19-year-old woman, died at a local hospital.

Police went to the four-bedroom home at 114 Lucille Way after getting a report at 10:45 p.m. of gunshots being fired inside a short-term rental. Dozens of partygoers were running away from the property when officers arrived, and three people were pronounced dead at the scene.
