Teen jumps from plane at Houston Airport to avoid arrest for burglary

A 16-year-old aboard a Houston-to-Oklahoma City plane tried to avoid arrest by jumping from the roof of a United Airlines jet bridge on Monday 18th November, according to authorities.

Police say the teen was wanted for second-degree burglary out of Cleveland County, Oklahoma and apparently knew deputies planned to detain him at the airport.

Upon exiting the United Airlines aircraft, the teen slipped through a crack in the jet bridge and ran across the tarmac. Deputies chased after the teen, who proceeded to climb on top of another jet bridge, reach the top of the terminal building, leap onto yet another jet bridge, and ultimately jump onto the ground, breaking both of his legs.

The teen was detained and transported to a local hospital, police said.
