Brazilian police confiscated a significant amount of cannabis, weighing approximately 290 kilograms (640 pounds), from a single-engine aircraft registered under the name of a Brazilian branch of an evangelical church.
The incident occurred on Saturday 27th May 2023, when law enforcement officials made the discovery at a private hangar at Belém International Airport.
According to reports, the aircraft was scheduled to depart from the hangar, prompting the attention of the Federal Police. As authorities approached the scene, one individual attempted to flee but was subsequently apprehended.
Footage released by Brazil’s Federal Police showed the moment of the seizure.
