A 77-year-old Australian man died after he was attacked by a kangaroo that he had kept as a pet.
The man was found at his home on Monday 12th September 2022 with serious injuries. He lived in Redmond, Western Australia about 399 km (248 mi) south of Perth.
The kangaroo initially stopped the ambulance staff from treating the man when they got to the remote farm and police said they were forced to shoot the kangaroo dead so paramedics could reach him.
This is the first reported death from a kangaroo attack in Australia since 1936.
