On Thursday, February 2nd, 2023, a man left a human jawbone at a California police station and walked out.
The unidentified man visited the San Bernardino Police Department located in Southern California, approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles. He left what appeared to be animal remains and a lower jaw that resembled a human jawbone. The Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene.
Upon further examination, the Coroner’s Office determined that one of the bones was indeed a human jawbone.
Officers attempted to locate the man but were initially unsuccessful.
In order to aid in the investigation, police released a surveillance photo of the individual, who was described as having a beard.
On February 3rd, 2023, the San Bernardino Police Department released an update stating the subject had been located and identified but no further information was provided.
