Seven gunmen, who invaded a hospital in an effort to murder a teenager receiving treatment, have been arrested by police in Ecuador.
The seven gang members held five staff members at Napoleón Dávila de Chone hospital hostage for more than an hour and shot at police before they were detained, according to the local newspaper El Diario.
The 17-year-old target of the attack, known as “Dirty Face”, is thought to be a member of a rival gang who is in intensive care recovering from bullet wounds.
